I just purchased a new 23' AOC monitor to 'clamshell' with my macbook. I have purchased the appropriate cables to connect with my macbook to discover that the monitor software doesnt have a mac driver and the AOC website says to download a Mac Plug and Play driver to work with the monitor.

The monitor turns on but mirrors my macbook and jumbles up my desktop. I am unable to locate one of these 'drivers' with apple's help. Is anyone familiar with this issue that might be able to recommend a solution? I would hate to take my brand new monitor back. Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8) Posted on Apr 1, 2011 10:55 AM. Can you post a link where it says on the AOC website to download a Plug and Play driver?

I can't believe they got it that wrong. A P&P driver is something that comes built-in to the monitor, hence the name. It eliminates the need to download a driver because the driver is already inside the monitor and the act of plugging it into the host computer causes the display's driver information to be read automatically.

The whole point is to avoid having to download and install drivers, so if the website really says that, it's wrong. Posted on Apr 2, 2011 5:51 AM. The question below that one about what is a plug and play driver comes much closer to be the actual description of how it's supposed to work. To your specific problem at hand, is the lid up or lid down where you are having the issue of the monitor not displaying an image?

With the lid up, you should be able to make changes to the format being sent to the AOC. With the lid up and mirroring off, are you able to find the proper native format/timing to send to the AOC within OS X's Display Preferences? I'm assuming that should be 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz.

That would typically be the case for a 23' monitor. Try getting it to run correctly with the lid up first, then move on to the problem of getting it to work right with the lid down. Apr 3, 2011 7:46 AM. I just bought the AOC 2237Fwh monitor, hooked up a DVI cable out of my Powerbook Pro using OS 10.6.8 and it worked instantly, at full rez.

But I am unable to use the keyboard to adjust brightness levels on the fly. Since there were no Mac drivers or software on the Install DVD, I used Apple's calibration tool in the Diplays COLOR Preferences for now. It has a number of steps to calibration that adjust color, gamma, white point, etc.

If anyone knows of AOC drivers that will actually provide AOC's controls, please post here. Dec 29, 2011 9:13 PM. I just got my new MacBook 15 the other day and today decided to set it up wiht my AOC E2251Swdn monitor. Black monitor screen. It worked fine with my old laptop (mid 2007). I got the mini dv adapter as I saw it didn't have the DVI port I'm used to seeing. However, the monitor when I got it only came with the old school VGA cord, not a DVI, thank goodness I finally had a use for the one that must have originally come with the previous laptop, and that worked just fine.

Right now I have the VGA cable with the DVI apple adapter then plugged into the DVI to Thunderbolt adapter. Could this cord issue be why my monitor claims no signal no matter what I do? Also, when I looked for drivers and click the link in the post above, it downloads a folder for drivers, however, I dont' know what to do with the files in that folder (2251w.cat, 2251w.icm and 2251w.INF).

I have a hunch they are windows only. If I need to get a strictly DVI cable I can do that, but would like to know if that's likely my problem before I buy it.

The monitor is only about 2 months old give or take. Thank you in advance May 19, 2013 6:51 PM.
